We went over to my parents' for dinner last night and while we ate we put Anabelle on the couch in her car seat, and to make sure that my parents' dog wouldn't jump up and bother her, we built a cushion barrier around Anabelle.

I love Anabelle's expression in this picture. It looks like she's crying: "I don't like it when you fight, Grandma and Grandpa!" And I don't think Anabelle's grandparents were really fighting at all; I think it's just one of those things where the camera freezing normal expressions makes them look weirder than they really were.

Anabelle's First Sushi Outing

Of course, she slept the whole time and didn't order anything, but we'll still count it as her first sushi experience.

At least Mom and Dad got to enjoy a good sushi lunch before Dad has to go back to work tomorrow. So sad!

Anabelle got a lot of compliments on her outfit Sunday. It's a lightweight, airy outfit that was great for the hot weather. Everyone said it was their favorite outfit they've seen her in so far, and Anabelle seemed to like it too. Thanks to Vidhya for giving Anabelle this adorable outfit!

Trauma!

The other event in Anabelle's day today was her 2 month checkup, which meant shots -- 4 shots, to be exact! Here you can see the results of her visit to the doctor. Poor Anabelle! At least the rest of her day was more fun, and she won't have to get shots again for another two months.

Play Date

Today Anabelle met a new friend -- Alexander James Boulton, who is exactly one week older than Anabelle. They seemed to get along pretty well, even hanging out in Anabelle's crib for a little while.

12 Pounds, 12 Ounces!

Whoa, that's a big baby! And to think at one point we were worried that Anabelle wasn't gaining enough weight. It'll be interesting to see how tall (long) Anabelle is at her 2 month physical on Friday.

After a bath, Anabelle likes to snuggle in her bunny blanket. (Thanks to Grandma Bunny for the adorable bunny blanket/towel/robe!)

Baby Björn: Those Swedes Are Pretty Darn Smart

One of Anabelle's favorite activities is riding in the Baby Björn. We've used it a lot this weekend -- taking her for walks around the lake, going shopping to Lunds and IKEA, and just rocking her to sleep in it at night. Thanks to Robin and Jon for this great gift: I don't know how we'd survive without it! (I especially love it for shopping: It's much easier to walk around a crowded store like IKEA with Anabelle in the Baby Björn than it would be to try to navigate through the crowds with a stroller.) And thanks to everyone else for all the great gifts: We've been using more and more of the shower gifts now that Anabelle has been more active and we're loving them all! (Anabelle thinks they're pretty great, too.)

Storytime Saturday: Hop on Pop
